Disputed Memorial
The erection of the Memorial was preceded by many years of struggle for the recognition of the Nazi genocide committed against Romani and Sinti people. The debate about the erection of the monument lasted for more than 20 years. Almost 10 years after its inauguration, in 2021 the monument is threatened by partial closure due to construction work by the German railways.
