Emanuel Barica is a Romani artist from Romania and has lived in Berlin for several years. He began his artistic work at the age of 15. His work at that time focused on portraits and caricatures. Arriving in Berlin, Emanuel expanded his artistic skills and horizons by networking with artists from all over the world.

His graphic novel: “The Night of the Violins” focuses on the lives of three Romani brothers who, as musicians, were deported from Romania to the Auschwitz-Birkenau concentration camp. Another remarkable graphic novel by Emanuel Barica is entitled “Birds with broken wings”, which also focuses on genocide. His drawings are minimal and made with fineliner, biros or drawing ink.
